I’ve entered two paintings to the Gordon Art Exhibition in Inverurie.
It’s my first time there, so I felt privileged to contribute. We’re so lucky to have such a wonderful local exhibition that’s been going strong for 24 years. It provides an opportunity to showcase the huge amount of artistic talent in Aberdeenshire.
And I’m delighted to have received their Gordon Forum Bronze Award for my painting of Crab Apples……….so happy!
The painting was preempted when Del the Dog and I drove down a country lane in October last year and saw a row of beautiful crab apple trees looking gorgeous with their bounties
I desperately wanted to paint them but, of course, I had no paint with me.
The next best thing was to stop the car collect a small armful of branches draped with the tiny red and green apples, put them in a jar of water in my studio, and the rest is history.
